Johnny Layton Goes to Dubai-!
And comes back totally alive.
Bleak. The weather had worsened considerably and to venture forth with the necessary camel force in thick sand dunes through the mountains of Moab which lay between Tafileh and the north would have been madness. If the camels did not die of exposure, they would present an easy target to a few Turkish horsemen as they plunged and slithered clumsily up and down the sandy mountain defiles.

Mallorca Update #2
The rain finally broke after a day or so, and the crew was siked to get going. The city is a serious skatepark, check some of these bank spots, this is only about 3 of 10+ sick ones throughout the city. Could it be....? I found my best skate city ever...? Me being a confessed transition lover and 36, made this place skateboard heaven for me. Also the whole no phone and internet thing was really working for me getting some photos and filming for the new Stereo vid with little or no interruptions. Kingpin is also putting together a web video and a piece on the trip so check for it coming after the holiday...http://kingpinskateboarding.com
Soy and Peter converse, this little cafes with food, beer, and coffee are everywhere in Spain. They are so cozy you feel 50 years old and Spanish by the time you leave one.

Mallorca Update #1
Ok, so if you haven't read on this blog already, November 10th I embarked on a trip to Mallorca with fellow Stereo teammate Olly Todd, and fellow Dekline European riders Soy Panday and Peter Molec. Also along for the journey were Liam Rea, our Scottish Filmer, Benjamin Debert our photographer from Kingpin and culinary expert, and Jamie Fontecilla, Spanish tour guide and all around ripper. The crew was tight, as we all know the first start to any good skate journey is your crew, and this was a good one.
Mallorca is like one big skatepark let me tell you, I had no idea. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I found out at the airport that I would have no cell reception, and arrived to no internet. 7 days with no contact with the outside world, for a busy body like myself, that was daunting...I hadn't been without cell or internet for a week in probably 10 years. It wound up being all for the best though, more focus on skate time.

NC Battleship contest
Abdias and the Skatepark of Tampa crew competed in the Red Bull Battleship contest this weekend. The North Carolina Battleship was used in World War II but somehow they let us all skate on the deck this weekend. Abdias helped Skatepark of Tampa battle it out for second place. John Montessi and Westside Skateshop took it while Endless Grind Skateshop came in 3rd. Cold as hell on the battleship but it was a good one.
