ENTRY FEE: $20.00 (Limited to first 60 contestants only)
CONTEST INFO: Deathbox Expression Session II Park Party and Pro Park Slalom Event.
This event will be held during the January ASR tradeshow weekend on the night of Friday, January 24rth, 2003 from 7PM – 12AM.
ENTRY FEE: Entry fee is $20 per racer. Due to time restrictions, registration is on a first come, first serve basis- Limited to the first 60 racers who show up and throw down the $20.00 cash only entry fee. Absolutely NO exceptions.
PRIZES AND AWARDS: Cash prizes, plus trophies will be awarded to the top three places; (monies from all entries will be used for top 3 places). Ribbons, and or medals will be awarded to places 4th through 10th.
THE COURSE: The course will be fast, dangerous, challenging, and diverse. It will merge many disciplines of riding including slalom, street, obstacle, bank, and vertical. There will be 10 to 25 cones placed strategically throughout the course. You will need a bowl or vert board set up to be competitive.
PRACTICE: Practice on the course will be open, and will start at 7PM SHARP. Practice will be approximately one hour before the start of the race. Due to a tight time schedule, the race will start at 8PM SHARP. Any practice runs after the announcement that practice is over, will result in disqualification. Absolutely NO exceptions.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Safety equipment is up to the rules and regulations of the Skatelab facility. Helmets are mandatory. Your race number will be attached to your helmet. All racers enter this race at their own risk and agree to release Skatelab, Deathbox Skateboards, Osiris Shoes, and Black Leather Racing of any liability resulting from any injuries what-so-ever at this event for any reason.
RACING FORMAT: Each racer will be given two runs. The fastest time, including cone penalties, will be used to determine the victor. Cone penalty and DQ penalty will be established and announced at the racers meeting before the race. You will be able to push through this course, anywhere you can to increase your speed.

8:00pm Racers meeting
8:15pm Race Starts
11:15 -11:30pm Race Ends (Hopefully)
11:30pm – 12:00 am Awards Ceremony / Park Closes

DEATHBOX skateboards in conjunction with OSIRIS Shoes, and TUM YETO will be holding the first ever - PARK SLALOM EVENT! Imagine, the first 60 invitees to the party, pay a $20.00 entry fee to race, best of two timed runs on a course through out the free/streetstyle area of the SkateLab indoor park!
This course will be fast, and will include between 10 and 25 cones, some of which will be mounted on vertical surfaces!!! This will be the first of it's kind, unique, event - merging slalom (The Soul of Skateboarding) with Street and Vert riding talent to determine the victor!
This event will pay to 3rd place and award trophies, ribbons, medals or plaques to 10th. There will also be either a live DJ, a Band, Food and Beverages, and plenty of bowl riding and free skating and hanging going on.

Billy Marks and Josh Harmony may be embarking on an east coast Etnies trip on the way to the Tampa AM contest. Where Billy will probably win. I wouldn't be at all surprised!
Nate Broussard and Ed Templeton will connect with Billy and Josh at the Tampa AM. Where Nate is rumored to be entering the contest.

Leo Romero is getting a Raw Talent in the January issue of Strength. Leo will be getting a last part in the new Pharmacy video due out this spring along with friends Matt Allen, Spanky, and Brian Herman. Rumor is that Leo will also be getting the cover. Right on Leo! Plus you can expect Leo to enter the Tampa AM. If does half as well as he did at the Coup Detat San Dieguito handrail challenge he may just be a contender in Tampa.

Gareth Stehr is leaving this country and going back home to New Zealand for the holidays. I asked if he celebrated Thanksgiving and he said "Dude, the pilgrims didn't wash ashore in New Zealand." Which started to make sense, we are all pilgrims! Apparently the common wealth of NZ does celebrate Christmas so off he's going to get lots of presents and will probably be doing some skateboarding aswell.
Daniel Shimizu is working on a Slap interview and has being busy shooting shots with shooters. Plus I'm hearing that Daniel is getting a cohorts in Skateboarder with roommate Justin Roy.
Mike Rusczyk was on a little holiday here in SD and everyday got some killer footage, he also shot some photos for TWS the other night and a sequence for BIG Brother - God dam Am's! Plus he is working on an interview for Strength.
OMG! Jon West has a scary cover on the new TWS Biz mag. It's really scary, its got Jon and he's like front boarding a fence in a graveyard and....just go look at it.
